We help women business owners assess, prepare, and position their companies and themselves for exit so they can turn the value of what they've built into lasting wealth.
At The Northbound Company, we help women business owners articulate their value, prepare for the journey, and exit their companies — transforming years of hard work into lasting wealth, freedom, and security.
Understand and tell the story of your company's value in a way that attracts the right buyers and moves the deal forward.
Build toward your exit deliberately. We help you understand what buyers are looking for, get ready for due diligence, and prepare for what the transition will ask of you personally.
Move through the financial and personal realities of a successful exit — with a strategy, a story, and someone in your corner.
We work with women business owners at every stage of the exit journey.
You're ready to go to market and want to make sure you're positioned to get what your company is actually worth.
You're not ready to sell today but you want to build toward an exit deliberately — and start now while it still matters.
You're not sure what your company is worth or what an exit would even look like. That's exactly where we start.
Seven exits between us. We've had the wins and made the mistakes — and we've seen firsthand what happens when founders go through this without the right support.
The Northbound Company exists because women business owners deserve to exit better prepared, better supported, and better positioned for what comes next. We built this firm because we believe in creating more wealth for women — and because we know how much is left on the table when founders navigate one of the most important financial decisions of their lives alone. We're not brokers. We're former founder-operators who have been through it, and we're passionate about changing both the process and the outcome for the women we work with.
Alisa exited her first company at 29 years old and walked away with $50,000. Her second exit came two years later with a $5 million upfront deal and a $25 million valuation. Three more exits followed, each teaching her a different lesson about growth, value, negotiation, identity, and what happens after the deal closes. She has sold companies to partners, multinational corporations, and strategic buyers across twenty years of building and operating. What she didn't have through any of it were mentors — and almost no women who could help her understand how to prepare for an exit, maximize value, structure strong deals, and navigate the emotional transition that follows. Today she helps other women do exactly that.
Amy founded and exited Pumpspotting, a venture-backed maternal health platform with a 100K+ community — and came out the other side knowing that the deal isn't the hardest part. The hardest part is everything underneath it. Who you are when the thing you built is no longer only yours. She brings 25 years of brand building alongside that lived experience to every founder she works with at Northbound — helping them get clear on what success actually looks like for them, find what makes their business genuinely exciting to buyers, and navigate what can be a lonely process with someone steady in their corner.
We'd love to hear from you. Reach out directly to talk through where you are and where you want to go.
